Prior to returning to education, I was an apprentice-trained cabinetmaker and antique restorer and later running my own business for seven years. During this time I also trained as a therapist.
I am the gallery technician/curator for contemporary arts at the Bronte Parsonage Museum. I also freelance, curating contemporary fine art exhibitions.
I hold a BA (Hons) Painting and Ceramics (2:1) and completed my MA Printmaking (Distinction) in 2008.
Through my art practice, I develop ideas around my themes of Boundaries and Bounded-ness and Transgression; I am particularly interested in the spaces where acts of 'Transgression' occur. I endeavour to explore the hidden and the uncomfortable, re-presenting these often-taboo areas, within my domain.
'Transgression is an action that involves the limit, that narrow zone of a line where it displays the flash of its passage, but perhaps also its entire trajectory,even its origin; it is likely that transgression has its entire space in the line it crosses'.
