Light, movement and natural forms inspire this work. Earlier pieces play with mark making to allow the subconscious to merge into a different form. More recently Phil has begun with a traditional approach to landscape and woven in spontaneous expression.

This selection of work shows both aspects and offers a taste of the variety of approach and media used.

Phil graduated in 1997. In recent years he has expanded his work through practice and wider contact within art networks. He has been part of Artfusion North since its formation in 2006. As well as pushing his Fine Art practice Phil is currently teaching life drawing classes in York and developing portraiture within a care home for older people.
